Flea Control
Fleas usually arrive on pets, and their eggs keep hatching in carpets and furniture for weeks. Treating the home, treating your pets and following the prep steps together is what breaks the cycle.
Signs you may have fleas
- Pets scratching, biting or licking more than usual
- Small itchy bites around the ankles and lower legs
- Tiny dark specks (flea dirt) in pet bedding or on your pet’s skin
- Small jumping insects on carpets, rugs or furniture, especially where pets rest
How we handle it
- 01
Prepare
Before we arrive, treat every pet with a veterinarian-approved flea product, wash pet bedding and fabrics on high heat, and vacuum thoroughly.
- 02
Treat
We treat carpets, rugs, furniture and floors. Everyone, pets included, stays out for 4–6 hours or as instructed.
- 03
Break the cycle
Vacuum daily for 2–3 weeks to pull up eggs, larvae and pupae as they hatch into the treatment.
- 04
Follow up
Your technician decides at the visit whether a follow-up is needed. Still seeing fleas after three weeks? Call us.
Good to know
- Seeing fleas for 2–3 weeks after treatment is normal as eggs and pupae hatch and contact the treatment.
- Wait 48 hours before vacuuming, and don’t mop or shampoo carpets for at least two weeks.
- Every pet needs to stay on a veterinarian-approved flea product, or the home can be reinfested.
