Bed Bug Treatment
Bed bugs hitchhike in on luggage, used furniture and clothing, and they rarely respond to DIY sprays. A detailed inspection and a customized treatment plan are the fastest way back to a good night’s sleep.
Signs you may have bed bugs
- Itchy bites in lines or clusters, often on the arms, neck and shoulders
- Small rust-colored or dark spots on sheets, mattress seams or the box spring
- Tiny pale eggs, shed skins or live bugs in mattress seams, headboards and furniture joints
- A musty, sweet odor in heavily infested rooms
- Recent travel, a hotel stay or secondhand furniture before the bites started
How we handle it
- 01
Inspect
A detailed inspection confirms whether you have bed bugs. If you don’t, we’ll tell you.
- 02
Prepare
You’ll launder bedding and clothing on high heat, bag belongings and clear clutter using our preparation checklist.
- 03
Treat
A treatment plan customized to your home. Everyone, pets included, stays out until your technician gives the go-ahead.
- 04
Follow up
A follow-up inspection and treatment is usually scheduled 2–3 weeks after the first visit.
Good to know
- Some bed bug activity for 7–14 days after treatment is normal. Bites should decrease as the treatment takes effect.
- Don’t move treated beds or couches for at least 48 hours, and leave beds pulled slightly away from the walls.
- Keep cleaned items sealed in bags until your technician confirms it’s safe to open them.
- Hold off on buying new furniture. If you get rid of infested furniture, throw it away rather than selling it.
